The Dionysus Kylix (a drinking Cup) is one of the mastepieces of Exekias, Attic Black figure potter. 540-530 BC. In the center of the cup, a sailing ship is depicted traveling in the sea. The original Kylix is at The Staatliche Antikensammlungen, it is a museum in Munich's Kunstareal holding Bavaria's collections of antiquities from Greece and other Great cities.
In the ship there is God Dionysus in over size figure, οn the mast rests a vine climate with large branches and grapes hanging ready for harvest over the head of Dionysus. The God Dionysus arrogantly, with a crown on his head, leads his boat with the white sails. Dolphins swim around the boat in the sea. On the outside of the Kylix around the two handles are painted soldiers over a corpse on each handle. On the wide sides of the Kylix eyes look from both sides.
